PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

May 1, 2006

7:00 p.m. 

The Mayor and Planning Commission members met in regular session in the Eagleville City Hall, City of Eagleville, Rutherford County, Tennessee,  May 1, 2006, 7:00 p.m.  The following members were present:

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was Called to Order by Chairman Don McCord.   

CITIZEN’S INPUT

None.  

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

            Chairman McCord asked for a motion to approve the minutes for the regular and called meetings in for the Planning Commission.  Councilman Harold Vincion made the motion and Mayor Barham seconded.  The motion was passed by a unanimous “Aye” vote.

Annexation of State and Federal Highways

            Mayor Barham made the motion to have a basic resolution adopting a plan of service for the annexation of any areas by the City of Eagleville, State of Tennessee, and leave blank what is to be annexed and what the total map area is and fill in as needed.  Councilman Harold Vincion seconded.  The motion was passed by a unanimous “Aye” vote. 

Mayor Barham asked Mr. Bo Logan to revise this resolution and have it ready for the next meeting.

Chris Hendrix Letter

            Mayor Barham notified the Planning Commission that Mr. Chris Hendrix brought in a letter today asking that his residence at 1126 S. Main Street be zoned commercial.  The letter will be copied and put with the minutes.       

Fax from Terry Bradford concerning Mr. Daniel Coffey

            Mayor Barham showed the Planning Commission a fax from Mr. Terry Bradford, Rutherford County Codes, regarding Mr. Daniel Coffey’s property.  Two questions were addressed:  1.) Does the city supersede the county if annexed in, and, 2.) What is the role of the State of Tennessee in this.  Mayor Barham stated that Mr. Coffey has already provided the Planning Commission with a copy of the State permit.  After discussion it was decided that further discussion with Scott Farris at the County Codes office was needed.  In addition, a letter explaining the County’s decision would be requested.   

New sub-division regulations

            Mayor Barham stated that everyone should have a copy of the new sub-division regulations.  He added that about two years ago some of this was passed, and the Planning Commission might want to go back and review the sub-division regulations again.  Mr. Bo Logan stated that he would bring three new copies of the Sub-division Regulations to the next meeting.  Mayor Barham made the suggestion that the Planning Commission start the discussion on this issue at the next meeting, June 5, 2006.   

Next Meeting

            All members of the Planning Commission agreed that the next regular scheduled meeting would be Monday, June 5, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall.   

ADJOURNMENT

            With no further business to discuss, Councilman Harold Vincion moved the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Mayor Barham.  The meeting was dismissed by unanimous vote at 8:56 p.m.
