MINUTES OF A CALLED SESSION

OF THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EAGLEVILLE , TENNESSEE  

June 19, 2006

 

The City Council of the Town of Eagleville, Rutherford County, Tennessee, met at a called session at 7:00 p.m. on  June 19, 2006, in Eagleville City Hall with Mayor Nolan S. Barham, Sr., presiding.

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was Called to Order by Mayor Nolan Barham. 

ROLL CALL

            A roll call was taken by City Recorder Michelle Bennett.  All members were present.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION

Molly Burrows – By Senator Bill Ketron

            Senator Bill Ketron read aloud and presented Molly Burrows with a Resolution from the 2006 State Legislature for her achievements on May 22, 2006, when she won the Pentathlon event at the TSSAA Spring Fling held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Her State Championship was the first for Eagleville High School sports.   

OLD BUSINESS

Second Reading of the 2006-2007 Budget & Tax Rate Ordinance

            The Mayor and City Council reviewed and discussed the 2006-2007 Budget & Tax Rate Ordinance for the second reading.  Councilman Harold Vincion made the motion to approve the second reading of the 2006-2007 Budget & Tax Rate Ordinance with a tax increase from $.7956, the certified tax rate, to $.8700.  Councilman David Rigsby seconded the motion.  A roll call vote was administered by Michelle Bennett and the motion passed 5-1, with Councilman Smitty voting no.  

ADJOURNMENT

With no further business to discuss, Councilman Smitty made the motion to adjourn and Vice-Mayor Ronnie Hill seconded.  By unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
