PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
OCTOBER 5, 2009 6:30 PM
The Mayor and the Planning Commission members met in a regular session in the Eagleville City Hall, City of Eagleville, Rutherford
County, Tennessee, Monday, October 5, 2009.
CALL
TO ORDER The meeting was
called to Order by Chairman Nick Duke. The following members were present:

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Councilman Darin Rowell made a motion to approved the September 2009 minutes as mailed, and the motion was
seconded by member Andy Soapes. After a vote taken by Chairman Nick Duke, the motion passed 4-0.
BUSINESS
Training City Planner Amy Miller addressed
the Planning Commission and presented to them an updated zoning map. She then stated since there were so
many new Planning Commission members, she would be conducting training on the basics of reading and looking
at a Site Plans, and presented to the members a sample site plan for their use in training.
Before the training, Bobby Turner
asked to Ms. Miller what a business would need to do to build a lean-to on their building. Dustin Miller
stated the FEMA regulations would need to be addressed if the building was in a flood zone, and
discussion began on the regulations, requirements
and codes of the City regarding this.
Ms. Miller then addressed the Planning Commission and stated she would like them to review the site plan presented.
A questions and answer session began regarding the possible violations, mistakes and effects of the site plan and how
it cold relate to Eagleville Zoning and Subdivision regulations and developments. Discussion included the
possible development of sidewalk guidelines and the process of design and gateways into the City.
Councilman Rowell asked the City
Planners what they thought were the top issues and what they needed to be aware of. Mr. Owens stated he
could make recommendations but the Planning Commission members made the final decisions.
Discussion then began regarding possible
standards and options for the City of Eagleville to consider such as Historical preservation, signage, golf cart community,
and the implementation of a timeline.
ADJOURNMENT With no other business
to discuss, Chairman Nick Duke made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Andy Soapes. With a unanimous
“aye” vote, the meeting ended at 7:35 pm.
